AMBI activities:
  1. Running self-help groups for persons who stutter (PWS), and supporting the establishment of new self-help groups.
  2. Enhancing public knowledge about stuttering.
  3. Arranging conferences and meetings for persons who stutter, speach language therapists and anyone interested in stuttering.
  4. Publishing AMBI's periodical: "OutLoud" (Hebrew title: BEKOL RAM).
  5. Establishing and maintaining a Hebrew website and a DOMAIN.
  6. Maintaining contact with other stuttering organizations throught the world.
  7. Promoting affordable treatment for people who stutter

Notable events in AMBI's history:

November 2000. 3rd AMBI's conference titled: SLP's - The Self-help Group As A Way For Dealing With Stuttering. Guest speaker: Prof. Asa Kasher: The Self-help Group And Its Contribution To Self-image Improvement And Improvement In Speech Fluency.

April 2000. Establishment of the AMBI's northern branch, in Kiryat-Motskin. Guest Speaker: Ms. Lena Rustin.

November 1999. Gala performance by the Israeli comedian Tuvya Tsafir. All proceeds donated to AMBI. Guest Speaker: Knesset Member Tommy Lapid.

October 1999. 2nd AMBI conference titled: Stuttering And the Family Environment. Guest speaker: Minister of Education Mr. Yossi Sarid.

June 1999. National TV coverage. AMBI introduced nationwide.

May 1999. Special AMBI's gathering. Seventy people attended this evening during which many persons who stutter and their family members were interviewed.

May 1999. AMBI joins the ISA-International Stuttering Association.

April 1999. AMBI is registered as a non-profit organization.

March 1999. Mr. Benny Ravid, head of AMBI, participates in the ELSA (European league of Stuttering Associations) meeting in Vienna.

October 1998. 1st AMBI's conference. Attended by 130 people.

July 1998. First newspaper publication of AMBI. ??? What is this, Benny?

September 1997. Establishment of self-help group for persons who stutter at LENI house in Tel-Aviv.
